In the pages of the book, young readers encounter pink dolphins, parrots, and other inhabitants of this incredible land.

However, at the heart of the story are characters much closer to everyday life: street dogs Roki, Malyi, and Nikita, who are searching for shelter and are forced to sleep under the open sky. Through their adventures, the tale delicately addresses the real-world problem of stray animals and human responsibility for those we have tamed.

This theme is directly connected to the author’s life. Ihor Overchenko, a native of Lviv, has been living in Ecuador for many years, where he develops his own eco-farm, grows coffee, and works in landscaping. One of his major long-term initiatives is to establish a fully-fledged shelter for stray dogs and cats.

Thus, the fictional story transcends the boundaries of a simple book narrative. The images of its characters draw attention to animals that need daily protection, care, and a safe place to live. The project aims to support a charitable goal of creating a space where stray animals can receive proper care and find new homes.

The involvement of Mariya Atamanuyk adds a special dimension to the publication. While visiting her grandfather in Ecuador, she had the opportunity to experience the country’s nature, culture, and everyday life firsthand. This personal experience became a crucial foundation for the visual interpretation of the story.

The creative skills Mariya developed while studying at Studio SPIROGRAPH were further realized in her work on this publication.
