Usually, in the autumn, the volunteers of the Organizing Committee of the All-Ukrainian Project for Young Artists “PROSTO NEBYLYTSI” visit cells of Lviv Region, where gifted young people who are deprived of parental care, live. This time a group of five volunteers visited the Oriana Orphanage in Boryslav. The area of the house is immersed between farmhouses, and is reached only by a narrow path, which leads directly to a small well-groomed building. There is a modest playground opposite the building. When the volunteers arrived, there was not a living soul in the orphanage. The autumn day, despite the sunny weather, was cool, so the yard was deserted. Opening the distinctly squeaky door, the volunteers got into the middle of the house, there was noisy: loud shouts and foot-stomping were heard, which made it warmer. “Yeah,” the guests though, “so someone is still in the house.» The figure of a young man looked out to meet the guests from the chamber at the end of the hall. He reached out a friendly hand to say hello.”Good day!” voices greeted chorally in the dark hallway. «Good day!» A voice answered from the side room door, and a pile of smiling eyes poured into the corridor. That’s how the dialogue began with the guests and the owners of the house.
The owners showed the ground floor of the house, there is a room, a games room and two classrooms: one for younger children, the other for seniors. Within minutes, the visitors, along with a bunch of interesting eyes, were in the classroom, where a personal acquaintance and a master class took place, which the Project Organizing Committee welcomed the children with. As we found out 20 people aged 4-16 years live here. They have almost all been involved in the construction of their fantastic house. Thanks to the benefits of the Project, the children of the orphanage were able to provide artistic supplies and treat them with sweets. It should be noted that the group of visitors was pleasantly impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of the residents of this house and their teacher. «The Little House with the Big Heart» the guests called the guests this place.
The works of Oriana pupils, created by children with the participation of volunteer guests, went to Lviv the same day. Together with other works of the winners of this year’s competition, they will be presented in the large exhibition hall of the Lviv Art Palace in December 2016. We invite you all to visit the exhibition of the best works of the All-Ukrainian Project for Young Artists “PROSTO NEBYLYTSI” in the middle of December 2016.
